About the Practice
Dr. Nunez treats adult patients
at his office. He practices general psychiatry
and specializes
in addiction medicine and geriatric psychiatry. He is tri-lingual and
offers services in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Using both medication and psychotherapy, he provides
evaluation and treatment for a variety of
conditions including various forms of substance
dependence and other addictive behaviors. He
also treats depression, anxiety, adult attention
deficit disorder, and dementia.

Psychotherapy
Many patients with
emotional problems receive benefit by acquiring
insight into the reasons for their thoughts and
behavior, or by identifying and challenging
self-defeating beliefs and behaviors. Psychotherapy seeks to help
reach these goals. It can also enhance
motivation to change or promote the development of
more effective coping skills. Dr. Nunez may recommend
psychotherapy as part of your treatment.
Medication Management
Over
the last decade, there have been a number of advances made in
medications to treat psychiatric disorders and
substance dependence. Some
disorders are helped greatly with medications, and
treatment by this methodology is known as
pharmacotherapy or medication
management. Dr. Nunez may recommend
medication management for your treatment and will
need you to bring a list of your current medications
for your first appointment.
Confidentiality of Treatment
In our practice, confidentiality is considered
extremely important and can be safeguarded more
easily in Dr. Nunez’s small practice setting.
Patient records are only released to other
physicians or agencies upon your written request.
Fortunately, most insurance companies do not require
more than your diagnosis when insurance is filed.
If anything additional is required, we usually get
you to sign a release of information form. Our
practice has always been to follow a standard
stricter than HIPAA standards.
Payment for Services
We accept major credit cards for your
convenience. Insurance, when available, can be
billed on your behalf. |
